The Kamloops and District Real Estate Association (KADREA) requires members to adhere to a high standard of professionalism. This is enforced by the Professional Standards Committee of the Association. Should you feel that you have been misrepresented by your REALTOR® or professionalism was lacking during your transaction, KADREA will hear and follow up on your complaint.

Prior to filing a complaint, it is encouraged that a resolution be attempted with your REALTOR® by discussing the concerns with them. Sometimes issues escalate due to miscommunication and it could simply be that there is a misunderstanding. In the event a discussion with the REALTOR® does not resolve the issue, it is encouraged that you speak with their Managing Broker. The Managing Broker is the licensed individual that oversees the activities of all agents within the brokerage. Finally, if no resolution is reached, filing a formal, written complaint to KADREA or the Real Estate Council of BC (RECBC-the regulator) is your next step.

It is important to differentiate whether a concern warrants a complaint to KADREA or RECBC. The Real Estate Council of British Columbia enforces the Real Estate Services Act and all other legislation governing the actions of Real Estate Licensees in the province. The Kamloops and District Real Estate Association only has jurisdiction over its members and enforces its own bylaws, rules and regulations and the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.
